Project «SIŁA SZTUKI / The Power of Art»

In June 2010 L’viv will host the grand Polish-Ukrainian project «SIŁA SZTUKI/
The Power of Art» presenting the whole spectrum of contemporary art of Poland and organizing the Symposium on current problems of contemporary art in Poland & Ukraine.

The Project consists of two parts:

* Exhibition of works from the collection of Contemporary Art Society of Lublin Zachęty Sztuk Pięknych (to be held in the L’viv Palace of Arts)
* Symposium devoted to the problems of collecting contemporary art and cultural heritage protection in Poland & Ukraine.

The exhibition will be held in L’viv from 11 June to 18 July , and the Symposium – 12-13 June, 2010.

* Lublin collection of contemporary art demonstrates the widest section of Polish art of the last half century in all its diversity. The collection includes over 150 pieces of different kinds of art by 56 artists: paintings, photographs, objects, installations, films, performances, multimedia and conceptual actions.

Artists to be presented: Janusz Baldyga, Miroslaw Balka, Jerzy Beres, Caesar Bodzianovski, Wlodzimierz Borovski, Tomas Tsyetsyerski, Stanislav Druzhdzh, Stanislav Fiyalkovski, Grupa Sędzia Główny, Koi Kamoi, Dariusz Korol, Grzegorz Kovalski, Jaroslaw Kozlowski, Zofia Kulik, Dominik Leiman , Sławomir Mazhets, Sigmund Piotroski, Krzysztof Prushkovski, Jozef Robakowski, Mikolaj Smochynski, Jan Svidzinski, Leon Tarasevich, Tomas Tatarchyk, Zbigniew Warpehovski, Krzysztof Zarembski, Eva Zazhytska. The aforementioned names will be joined by many other established artists of younger generation.


* The Symposium will invite about 20 lecturers from Poland and Ukraine, as well as a dozen of observers from the major cultural centers throughout Ukraine.

The participants of the Symposium: Waldemar Dombrovski, Lucas Huzek, Voychyeh Kozlowski, Piotr Krayevski, Voychyeh Krukovski, Anda Rottenberg, Monika Szewczyk, Joanna Zyelinska and the representatives of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, Adam Mickiewicz Institute and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
