Chicago History Museum visit
I went to visit the Chicago History Museum (formerly Chicago Historical Society) with Luke and Victoria. Our tour of the permanent collection was entertaining. I did not know Gustave Chanute designed the stockyards. Marquette and Joliet, Fort Dearborn, Chicago Fire, were interesting topics. There were locomotive and streetcar exhibits. We also saw a really interesting Burnham 2.0 exhibit with high-speed rail throughout the Midwest. There were architects plans for downtown structures for millions of passengers. We also saw the Worlds Fair 1933 exhibit and nailed down location as the south loop area on the lakefront. We also consulted some neighborhood maps and a United States 1820 map.
